HETFIELD, Frank

Frank M. Hetfield was the son of Lewis R. and Rhoda L. Ware Hetfield. He was born in Covington, Ind, June 2, 1849 departing this life July 20, 1922 at Lake View Hospital in Danville, Ill at the age of 73 years 1 months and 18 days.  His parents came to this county in a very early day and his father was associated with many of the pioneer enterprises of Western Indiana. Frank engaged in farming soon after reaching manhood and this was his principal life work.  He lived the greater portion of his life in and near Hillsboro but for 4 or 5 years prior to his death, he resided in Veedersburg where he was engaged in business.  He was married a number of years ago to Cora Russell a member of a prominent family of Danville and Perrysville.  She survives him. One brother Alex Hetfield died in this city 11 years ago. Frank Hetfield was one of those sturdy honest open minded men whom we love to know. His straight, forward character, his frankness and his jovial disposition endeared him to his many friends, wherever he cast his lot. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Sarah Hetfield, this city at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Re v. OW McGaughey interment following in Mt. Hope cemetery on the Hetfield lots.
